Te3am,

There is a distinction about being the best and most qualified Event Hospitality provider that we need to never forget. That distinction is that our enterprise possesses the insight, skill set and greater wherewithal to shape the best programs in the industry. It is also important that we do not measure our success by merely having a satisfied client. While that is a great achievement we cannot sit back and relax when we deliver for our clients. Our clients “ask” is really only our starting point. Our client runs one venue and we run 300+ venues; we have greater visibility to the art of the possible and a deeper bench to bring it to life. We must never become satisfied with our client being happy – we strive to step beyond and deliver unanticipated greatness. We have the knowledge and bandwidth to do that and more.

Talking of greatness, this week the Walter E. Washington Convention Center pulled off an exceptional DMAI (Destination Marketing Association International) Conference. There were over 1,000 meeting planners in attendance and the reviews were amazing. Talk about leaving a positive mark and delivering on our corporate positioning of Making It Better To Be There – excellent job by our DC team.

Also this week, as an NRA board member I had the opportunity to voice our concerns and offer potential solutions to aid in the positive implementation of the controversial Affordable Care Act (copy of MarketWatch article attached). The reality is that more and more of the industry is looking to Centerplate to find solutions.

E3 moment of the week …

Congratulations to our team at the Raleigh Convention Center Complex on receiving the 2013 Best of NACE President’s Award of Excellence from the Triangle, NC chapter for our involvement and dedication to the industry.  Kate Jansen, Catering Sales Manager, is a member of the Board and Fundraiser Chair.  Great example of leadership in the local community and industry involvement!

Moving forward, especially on the heels of our major win at Atlético Madrid and business model expansion, we need to ensure we provide meaningful leadership at all levels – international, national and local. We all play a part so make sure that you and your team can be counted on.

Let’s go have fun and win!

Onwards!
