Centerplate Among the Winners of 2014 Grey Cup Championship at BC Place

The Centerplate team at BC Place had the honor of welcoming 52,056 fans to the 102nd Grey Cup in Vancouver, with new additions to their already great menu (and some support from Centerplate colleagues). Always a big food event, Chef Tse wowed the crowds with new menus, which included house-made sushi, pork dumplings, honey-grilled sausages with onions and peppers, and smoked bacon-fried rice. But they didn’t overshadow the regular season’s favorites which included locally-famous bacon wrapped hot dogs, Asian steamed buns, short rib poutine and house made burger
Overall, it was an outstanding performance by the BC Place team, led by managers Paul McArdle, Executive Chef William Tse, Shane Conn, Zee Khan, Shuhei Tada, Sarah Hamlin, Willie Wu, Emma White, Darryl Galgala, Lillian Hung and GM Michael Baker.
Assisting in the effort were Centerplate Managers from around the region including: Peter Dougherty, Nelson Drake, Chad Drangstveit, Joe Essary, Jean-Pierre Giroux, Russell Goehle, Vanessa Gray, Neil Harkins, Erika Lagerstadt, Shane MacDonald, Jim Miller, Jeff Nelson, David Thorne and Peter Wallace.
The last time the game was held at the Stadium, in 2011, the BC Lions took the Cup. This year, it was the Calgary Stampeders coming out on top, winning 20-16 over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
