“It is not the strongest of the species that survives nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change.” Evolutionary theory by Charles Darwin. This is a great quote to remind us that we must evolve or we will eventually become redundant and worse, irrelevant. It doesn’t hurt to be the strongest and most intelligent either, which is why we must commit to learning, training and developing as an enterprise.
It is not just important but vital that we all do our part. Are you learning? Do you possess and embrace a never stop learning attitude? Are you training your team? If you can’t emphatically answer YES to all, take a quick time out, and think how you can address this shortfall. Questions are good, but we are in the ‘answers’ business.
Please take a moment to watch the clip about the launch of the redesign of our hospitality offerings at the Colorado Convention Center (link provided in my email). In conjunction with three locally and nationally renowned chefs, Centerplate has put together a program that provides a true Colorado experience for our guests with the use of local Colorado suppliers and locally sourced Colorado ingredients including those from our very own Blue Bear Farm. This program serves as a great illustration that although we are already the clear leader in the convention center channel, we are not resting on our laurels. Instead we’re continually adapting and elevating our offerings.
E3 moments of the week …
At the Durham Performing Arts Center, our client sent in the wine distributor to secret shop the new wine selection at the lobby bars and our team came through with a perfect report. The secret shopper visited 4 bars and found all of the bartenders to be knowledgeable about the wines, each offered samples to taste before purchase and she was told that the staff had gone over the wines and descriptions to stay informed about what they were pouring. “I found that the Centerplate staff was very friendly, kind and courteous. They all seemed very genuine about wanting the consumer to have a good time and to enjoy the wine that they purchased. I can tell that there are several restaurants around town that don’t provide that kind of service.” Kudos to Adrienne Jones, Drew Keaton, David Keitel, Alyssa Levine, Katie Morris, Kelvin Williams, Stacy Wright and our team at the Center!
The recent Trade Show New Network awards event at the Kentucky International Convention Center received rave reviews from the attendees, consisting of meeting planners and trade show organizers making decisions on future business coming to Louisville as well as the President of the Kentucky State Fair Board, as well as our event client. “Words cannot express how grateful we are to your team for the absolutely perfect execution of everything. People won’t stop talking about the food! So many people told me it was one of the best events they have ever attended and these are all very seasoned trade show organizers!” Job well done to Robbin Chapman, Scott Timothy, Chef Ye Tun, Beverly Woodring and our staff at the convention center!
We have to be the best. We must give our best to do this. I challenge us all to evolve and remember that limits begin where visions end.
