Team,

On the eve of one of our major U.S. holidays, I want to wish everyone celebrating in the States this weekend a safe and happy July 4th. Many of us will be hosting events and celebrations on behalf of clients, and I want to thank you for making it better to be there for the millions of guests who share their time with us.

It has been an eventful June. As usual, we’ve executed hundreds of great events since my last update. Congratulations are in order to Drew Revella for overseeing yet another fantastic Belmont Stakes – true to his word the Centerplate hospitality team finished the race in the Winner’s Circle. Our team in the UK, led by Steven Beattie, hosted Beyoncé at Sunderland AFC’s Stadium of Light and the evening was a huge success. We were also privileged to play host to four International Soccer matches for the Copa America Tournament at Levi’s Stadium. Dac Carbone and his team recorded another successful event on the world stage.  A moving memorial for American icon Muhammad Ali was also held at the KFC Yum! Center. Paul Miller and our Louisville team took care of the Ali family, holding to their Muslim standards and traditions, as well as the thousands that came to pay their respects. It was heartwarming to see the outpouring for one of the legendary greats of our time.

Just this week I had the opportunity to spend a day in our Greenville office, where Eric Wooden gave me a progress update for the new Atlético de Madrid Stadium currently under construction in Madrid, Spain.   The Hospitality Solutions Group and our European operations team, led by Jeff Tandberg and Gustavo Rueda, have put an incredible amount of time and effort into the planning and design of what will be a new standard for global event venues.  I’m looking forward to a great opening in 2017.

Also in Greenville, our Regional Vice Presidents and Hospitality Support Center staff came together for a social event hosted by our talented team at the Bon Secours Wellness Arena.  The RVP’s were in town for a couple of days of menu development, product innovation presentations and policy discussions.  The food prepared by Chef Lou was outstanding and the venue looked great – many thanks to GM Michael Baker for a memorable evening.

Thanks everyone for all your hard work, I’m looking forward to my next visit. I’ll see you soon …
