CEO NewsletterTeam,
This week our NBD team presented for a nice piece of business in the Midwest. We were told they loved our story and were blown away by our message and our expertise. The only hurdle that we must overcome is that once again, we are not the “low cost option”. Over the past five years, we have been consistent in our message that we will not “buy” the business. While this means we will not land every account, it has been a sound strategy for protecting our brand and engaging with clients who truly understand the value of genuine hospitality. We’re not for everyone. There are several opportunities we are pursuing that will further expand our presence in existing markets as well as open new ones that we want to win. But it has to be a mutually beneficial relationship, where delivering on our platform is the common ingredient. We know that we’ve made an excellent pitch for this particular account in the Midwest; we’ll find out shortly if they seek a quality experience for their guest.
Recognizing the great accomplishments our teams deliver on a routine basis – that’s the easy part. The hard part is that there are so many to choose from … What a great problem!
With the culmination of the record breaking 2014 season at the Blue Hills Bank Pavilion, I thought it would be appropriate to mention the ongoing excellence of our BHBP management team. Mike Sheeran has led the charge at the BHBP since its inception (1988). Mike has no time to bask in the accomplishments of the BHBP success, because he’s also taking care of business at the Orpheum Theatre, the Boston Opera House and Joey’s. Collectively, these accounts have overachieved in every measurable category. Thanks to Mike and his team, Johnathan Casciello, Michael Lewis, Sean O’Dwyer and James Dowling for consistently Making It Better To Be There.
I’ll see you soon…
