Chris Verros

Team,

I’d like to personally thank each one of you for your professionalism during the most challenging week our company has ever experienced.  I know it wasn’t easy, but your performance made me proud to be a member of the Centerplate family.

The incident caught all of us completely by surprise and set in motion a media storm so intense even our fundamental values were questioned.   But even with this event hanging over our heads, those who know us best– our clients — supported Centerplate unanimously.  Every statement that was distributed to the media by our clients sent a strong and clear message:  “Centerplate is a great organization made up of thousands of great people committed to their clients, guests and each other.”  We all need to remember that our current and future success lies in each of us; and we are much greater than a single act.

We are the best company in this industry, and we got here together. We’ve built a stellar reputation through hard work, focus, integrity, and consistency. Our strategy hasn’t changed, and neither have our standards or our principles.

We have the best approach.

We have the best clients.

We have the best people.

So hold your heads high.  It is because of these truths, we remain the best organization in the industry.

In fact, during this tumultuous period we extended two current clients and were awarded a third.

Over the weekend, the board asked me to step up to guide this great company through this critical period, but in reality, each of us is being called upon to step up and remind the world how great we are.

How we all respond is how we will be judged.

As I started this message, I’m grateful to you for your professionalism and focus last week, because it’s your actions that truly define us.  Each of you had to face a difficult situation and deliver for our clients and guests, and you did exactly that.

I want you to know that I am honored to stand with each of you. I am committed, focused, and driven to shape the future as a team.

Consider this your formal invitation to join me in leading this company forward.

Best wishes

It is our strengths that define us not our weaknesses.
