CEO NewsletterSince 2009 we have set out to deliver on our vision to be #1 in Event Hospitality. At that time this was far from being a slam dunk with rumors swarming of our basic survival. Today I can say with complete confidence and rational justification that we have achieved our vision from an operational perspective. We simply outperform our competition on all measures important to our clients. With our acquisition of The Lindley Group, we now proudly serve over 300 clients and in the last 4 years have doubled the size of our company.
While we have come a long way, it is still just the beginning of our journey. The reality is that winning companies will always be on a journey. The moment we have reached our destination is the moment we have lost our edge. We must continually evolve and reach higher to achieve new milestones, especially when old ones have been attained. In that spirit I’d like to share with you our modified vision – Centerplate, the world’s most respected Event Hospitality brand. This is our new aspiration and how we want to be perceived by both our employees and our clients.
I am pleased to announce that we have renewed our partnership with the Kansas City T-Bones at CommunityAmerica Ballpark. We will be investing in some capital improvements to the ballpark and our client is thrilled, “We’re now able to partner more strongly with our food and beverage provider and these improvements will enhance the fan experience.” Great job by Ed Arwine, Bill Donovan, Ken Frazier, Michael Johnson and our entire team at the Kansas City T-Bones!
E3 moments of the week …
Congratulations to Dave Sugrue, General Manager at Ocean Beach Park, on being elected President of the New England Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions at its annual meeting. The NEAAPA is celebrating its 100th Anniversary and is the premier regional association for amusement parks and attractions.
The recent Excalibur Cup Gymnastics event at the Virginia Beach Convention Center was a great success with our event client very pleased and already looking forward to next year. “I want to thank your staff for your incredible assistance throughout the weekend. I appreciated the flexibility and the above and beyond service that everyone provided.” Our facility client took the opportunity to send his praise, “The recent letter from Excalibur reminds me of how each of you continue to set outstanding examples of quality food and service. The incredible job done here isn’t by accident. In my opinion it comes from outstanding leadership and talented, service oriented individuals. Each of you is like a piece of a large puzzle serving to complete a complex picture. Thank you for being a huge part of our success.” Kudos to Chef Robert Arnold, Ross Bauer, Chef Paul Benson, Matt Cavana, Susan Clark, Dee Forbes, Cassandra Murdough, Sabrina Rinaldo, Amelia Sanchez, Donna Sublett, Janine Swinson, Donovan Webb, Beth Williamson and our entire team in Virginia Beach!
Let’s go earn that respect together!
