As I look back at my 2018 goals, I am proud of my accomplishments even if they shifted vastly from what I wrote a year ago. With the resignation of Jillian in late January, I immediately stepped into her role as the interim Director without hesitation. We, as a team, had the largest year to date ahead of us and it was my mission to ensure the success of the Catering Sales team. There were many obstacles to overcome, which included being short at least one team member for all but two months of the year, being responsible for not only leading the team but also managing the same event load as my previous position and training new employees. I also had to take an early leave of absence and ensure that my team had the tools to succeed while I was out.
As things have fallen into place, I can refocus my attention back to bettering our operation by working on achieving my goals as outlined last year combined with new objectives for 2019. Ezplanit is a powerful tool that can benefit us in so many ways when used correctly. Online sales were steady and if you compare the three months the system was running in 2017 to the same three months in 2018, our sales increased by approximately $18,000 or 1,166%. This does not include Mardi Gras orders. The implementation of this function has shown to be a benefit early on, and I strongly feel adapting reporting functions will help make the operations team more efficient in what they do on a daily basis.
