“Taste NY” Store Grand Opening at Javits
NewsletterThe made-in-New York, locavore movement has swept the city, with locals—and visitors—more interested than ever before in sampling products hailing straight from their source.
Already dubbed “Marketplace for the World,” the Javits Center team wowed Fancy Food Show guests earlier in the year with an abundance of locally-sourced Pride of NY products, thanks to the efforts of John Erickson and the culinary team. This fall, the team went a step farther this October in opening one of the highly-touted “TasteNY” Stores for guests. A special initiative by the Governor, TasteNY is a product showcase for New York state producers and brands.
The high-profile crowd at the Grand Opening included Richard Ball, Commissioner of the State of New York Department of Agriculture & Markets, who raved about the new addition:
“I truly appreciate your working with my staff to get such a fine representation of New York-produced food and beverage products on the shelves… and going above and beyond by adding product sampling to an already impressive display. …Thank you for your hard work and efforts to get this important store up and running.”
