Happy Monday & Happy Presidents Day everyone! This weeks Motivational Monday and brain teasers are coming to you from the fantastic HR team at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA. Make it a great week!

Answers to the previous brain teasers:

  1. A River
  2. This is the only number that includes all the digits arranged in alphabetical order.
  3. Nine. Two parents, six sons and one daughter.  All of them have one sister (not six sisters).

This week’s brain teasers:

  1. I am a solitary word, 5 letters long.  Strike my first letter, and I am still the same.  Strike my next letter, and I am yet still the same.  What word am I?
  2. If you started spelling out numbers (one, two, three and so on), how far would you have to go until you found the letter A?
  3. A girl who was just learning to drive went down a one-way street in the wrong direction, but didn’t break the law. How is that possible?

Bonus

Presidents Day fun facts:

  1. Presidents Day is celebrated on the third Monday in February, thanks to the 1968 Uniform Monday Holiday Act.
  2. Washington’s birthday was actually on February 22, 1732 (this would be his 282nd birthday!).
  3. Lincoln’s birthday was actually on February 12, 1809 (this would be his 205th birthday!).
  4. President Ulysses S. Grant established Yellowstone as the first national park
  5. President Theodore Roosevelt has the most national parks named in his honor.
  6. Adams National Historical Park was the birthplace of two presidents: John Adams and John Quincy Adams.
