I believe 2018 was a successful year for myself and my HR Team at the Colorado Convention Center cluster. I have transitioned payroll as an additional duty to Ashley Zimmerman, HR Coordinator. This has eliminated the prior Payroll Specialist and has resulted in the savings of labor for the HR Team. We have streamlined HR procedures to allow the department to operate with 3 staff members which includes myself. Ashley has stepped up and excelled with these added responsibilities. This has allowed Ashley to gain valuable experience to further her HR career. I have coached her through the investigation process for various employee relations situations. I am pleased with her growth through 2018 and excited to witness and support her development in 2019.
At the Colorado Convention Center, I was a support in the promotion of 3 upper level culinary managers including the Executive Chef. I have coached and mentored the transition and promotion of key management positions including the promotion of Kayley Boyle to the Executive Chef position. I supported the opening of an additional P&L Which Wich unit in our cluster. I have supported Laurence Rua, Todd Moore and the Corporate Marketing teams, where requested, for the RFP to try and secure the 10-year contract for the Colorado Convention Center cluster. I successfully completed my recertification for SHRM-CP, TIPS Trainer and became ServSafe Manager certified.
As the District HR Manager for assigned units in Colorado and Washington, I have successfully supported my designated units in any recruiting processes, promotions, sensitive employee relations issues and strategic operational needs they may have brought to my attention. I have provided Subject Matter Expect level support for the HCM and Tracker I-9 systems to my designated units which also includes the units trained in the New England and West Coast regions. I have supported recruiting efforts for various RFPs in Colorado, Arizona and California.
In 2018, I was assigned to be the BizLibrary and ServSafe coordinator. As the BizLibrary coordinator, I developed the 2018 Training Plan, attended monthly conference calls, and supported the 2018-2019 contract renewal. As the ServSafe coordinator, I attended periodic conference calls and brain storming sessions to increase interest in the program.
Additionally, I have supported as a contact for the Western Region in the transition to a new Regional Director.
I will continue to mentor, coach and develop my local HR team to ensure we are meeting or exceeding the expectations of the units we oversee.
My 2018 goal was to: Further Support Corporate HR and training of Corp HR personnel – I believe I have been successful in this goal. I have taken on additional responsibilities delegated to me by David and Anthony and continue to support in areas needed. I continuously train other units on the HCM and Tracker systems. I did not train additional HR Managers this year but am available when needed. Additionally, I have supported Corporate Payroll with various communication needs for Payroll related issues at assigned units.
My 2018 goal was to: Develop a NPO Program for the Convention Center in Quick Serve and Banquet – I have not fully developed a NPO program but will continue to work with Todd Moore to assess the need for this program.
My 2018 goal was to: Achieve my re-certification for the Society of Human Resource Management – Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) – I achieved this goal. I am certified until 2022.
My 2018 goal was to: Support employees through Change Management – I have continued to support and effectively communicate Corporate’s changes to processes, procedures and systems.
