How Foods Become Unsafe!

  1. Time/Temperature Abuse Keep Food out of DANGER ZONE ( 41°F – 135°F)
  2. Cross Contamination Improper handwashing, cleaning and sanitizing or improper storage (raw food above ready to eat)
  3. Poor Hygiene Improper handwashing, improper glove use, working sick, open cut’s & sores, jewelry
  4. Improper Cleaning and Sanitizing Improper or wrong concentration of sanitizer, improperly functioning dishwasher

Monthly Safety Topic: Handling Ice

As warm weather approaches our use of ICE increases and we see increase of injuries associated with handling Ice. Common Injuries are:

  • Strains & Sprains lifting Ice Buckets & moving Ice
  • Slips & Falls from wet floors resulting from spilt melting Ice
  • Wrist Injury and Cuts from dumping ice into Steel Drink Coolers
