Centerplate Wins Local Gingerbread House Competition

The Centerplate Pastry Team at the Orange County Convention Center (OCCC), led by Chef Geeta Seth, won the inaugural Rosen Shingle Creek Gingerbread House com-petition held in December 2014. The contest benefiting Florida Hospital Transplant House (scheduled to open in 2015) was open to local chefs, pastry enthusiasts, and members of the hospitality community.
Entries were judged on originality, overall appearance, choice & use of materials, and difficulty of design. The main components of the house, including the walls and roof, must be constructed of gingerbread and all components of the house must be edible. Chef Geeta and her team put in multiple hours of creativity and hard work on the design, construction, and finishing techniques securing her the win for a good cause.
Chef Geeta’s edible replica of the future Florida Hospital Transplant House won her the competition. In addition $5,000 was donated to the Transplant House opening in 2015.
