Logo
The primary logo is the preferred logo. This logo should be used in eps format whenever possible. The png format is the next best alternative to this.
Where eps files are unusable, there are two primary logo options, one for larger sizes / applications and one for smaller sizes / applications.
Use the file with the extension “_small” for applications of the logo on small surfaces (up to 3″ wide). This addresses the gap on the left side of the logo becoming squeezed when the logo is used at small sizes. Be sure to use the correct logo.
Primary with CP Promise
This version of the primary logo with the Centerplate “brand promise” should be used selectively for format applications such as signs, letterhead, and cover pages. As with the primary logo, this version should be used in eps format if possible.
Where eps files are unusable, there are two primary logo options that include the “brand promise”, one for larger sizes / applications and one for smaller sizes / applications. This addresses
the gap on the left side of the logo becoming squeezed when the logo is used at small sizes. Be sure to use the correct logo for size.
If there are any questions about the use of this version of the Centerplate logo, contact the Marketing Department for clarification.
Secondary
The secondary logo is to be used only when the primary logo will not work for a particular application. Examples include small square spaces such as digital ads and profiles or tiled designs using it in a repeating pattern with other vertically-oriented logos (such as with a client’s logo on a media wall).
Icon Only
The icon version of the logo should only be used when authorized. Contact the Marketing Department with specific needs.
Black & White
Only use the black and white versions when unable to print in color. An example would be on fax forms or a black and white flyer. The only acceptable black and white variations are the examples shown on this page.
Minimum Size
The logo should be legible at all times, so we’ve established minimum sizes. These minimum sizes should accommodate most applications,
but make sure the logo is never smaller than what can be clearly read. Applications such as web or signage may require larger sizes.
Clear Space
The importance of clear space cannot be overstated. A clear area around the Centerplate logo will ensure that it has maximum visibility and impact. Avoid crowding the logo with other elements such as type and imagery. The height of the “n” [X] in the brand mark “Centerplate” has been chosen as the standard unit of measurement for calculating the clear area. This rule applies to all variations of the Centerplate logo.

Avoid Common Mistakes
Our logos have been custom drawn. Never recreate the elements. Always use the approved artwork, and always follow these rules:
- Never shrink or stretch the logo
- Never attempt to recolor the logo
- Never attempt to re-create the logo
- Never apply effects to the logo
Be sure to also avoid using old versions of the Centerplate logo. The old logo can be identified by the use of light blue and a “beveled edge” effect around the Centerplate icon. Much older versions include a Centerplate icon with a different shape altogether.
Color Palette
The Primary Centerplate logo is now set exclusively in the spot color, PMS 541
When included with the Primary logo, the brand promise is set in PMS Cool Gray 10.
Examples of these colors, as well as how they are used in the logo are shown at right. The consistent use of color is paramount to build and maintain brand identity. The primary colors in the Centerplate palette are bold and powerful.
Typography
For printed materials, typefaces are Cosmos (which is the font on which the logo is based) and Gotham. Either of these fonts can be used in any non-digital application, such as advertisements or brochures. The most commonly used styles of each typeface are listed below.
The preferred font for use in Centerplate’s day-to-day word processing and corporate communications is Arial, to ensure consistency across all materials and platforms (both Macintosh and PC). Arial should be used in the body of all corporate communications, such as email, correspondence, presentation materials and event signage.
Other Logo Needs
All authorized suppliers have received the appropriate logo usage guidelines and format for their product(s).
Only authorized suppliers, as determined by the Centerplate Purchasing Department, should be used. Any exceptions must be approved by the Purchasing Department, which will provide the supplier with the logo and usage guidelines. The Facilities Design and Capital Purchasing Department will approve suppliers and logo usage for such items as building signage and vehicle decals.
