Getting Started with Centerplate On-Line Campus

Centerplate offers a convenient solution to assist in learning new skills through the Centerplate University On-Line Campus. This service is a cloud-based online learning system that leverages video tutorials and assessments to give team members access to a rich repository of knowledge.
Getting started is easy. Access the campus by clicking the Learning Center tab and selecting Centerplate University from the drop down list.
The Centerplate University homepage gives you a dashboard view of your class assignments and overall progress (see screen capture). If you encounter an issue with displaying the online courses, access the online support and browser tests on the lower left.
You may browse the courseware by selecting the My Catalog tab. Any existing courseware and classroom documentation that has been assigned to you will be available in the My Learning tab.
After selecting a course, you will see the course detail page (see screen capture) which lists the course description, duration of the course, comments, and ratings. Enroll in the course by clicking the blue plus sign (+) on the left. The button will turn into a green play button. Clicking this button will immediately start the course.
The course will launch in a separate new window (view screen capture). Confirm that any web browser pop-up blockers have been disabled prior to launching the courseware. If the video course contains an online assessment, you will see a button labeled Take Quiz. Click on that button to launch the online test for the course.

Special Instructions for iOS users
iOS users will need to select some special options to open a training class video on their iPad or iPhone:
- Click on the settings app from your iPad home screen.
- Click “Safari” options on the left side.
- Under the option for “Block Pop-ups” select it to OFF.
- Return to Centerplate On Line Campus and activate course.
- A message will appear: “This site is attempting to open a pop-up window” Click Allow.
- A new browser tab will appear with the training course, quiz, and additional materials.
Assigning Training
Assign courses to groups quickly.
Select supervisors, managers, and staff members will be given permission to assign training for their team or units. To assign training, browse to the training course you would like to require other users to take. Select the icon of the two people, next to the plus sign on the right (view screen capture)
This button will bring up the Assign/Unassign Users window. From here you can search for users, and add them.
If you are adding several users, or an entire business unit, you can simplify the process by clicking “Admin Actions” on the right. This brings up a tab – click “Make New Assignments.” A new window appears with box to search for users or user groups. Select the user group or users you would like to assign to this course and click “Add.” These groups and users are now assigned to this course.
