As a general practice, Centerplate strives to fill open positions from within the organization, unless qualified internal candidates are not available or the Company otherwise deems it appropriate to look externally. The most qualified candidate will be selected based on an overall evaluation of the applicants’ training, education, experience, interviews, test results, references and overall qualifications.

Procedures

Managers should use the following procedure for requisitioning employees:

  1. Identify the open position and job description. Existing job descriptions are available on-line at Centerplate’s infoCenter and Centerplate Way. If a job description does not already exist, work with the Corporate Human Resources Department to create one.
  2. Complete a Recruitment Request Form, identifying the position, title, skills/education, job description, location, hours and salary/pay range. Obtain all management approvals indicated on the form, and submit it to the Corporate Human Resources Department.
  3. The Corporate Human Resources Department generally will post open positions in the Job Applicant section of the Centerplate website (www.centerplate.com). It will also work with you to decide if further external recruitment is necessary. For any location that is filling a union position, check with the Corporate Human Resources Department to see if the relevant agreement requires the use of the union “hiring hall” first, before proceeding outside the Company.
  4. For any General Manager or staff equivalent position, the Corporate Human Resources Department will provide the applicable Senior Vice President and/or Vice President/Regional Vice President with a grid of possible internal and external candidates.

External Resources

All external recruiting, advertising and contact with outside employment agencies or recruiters must be conducted by the Corporate Human Resources Department. Employment agencies and search firms may only be retained by the Corporate Human Resources Department. Any advertisements to be published (including external job postings) must be pre-approved by the General Manager or Vice President and the Corporate Human Resources Department and must contain the following legend: “Centerplate is an equal opportunity employer” and participates in E-Verify.  The Corporate Human Resources Department will recruit for all external positions after receiving a completed Recruitment Request Form.
