Job Code Updates
Updated Job Code Listing with General Ledger/Expense Accounts – New Job Codes with GL Codes SPARK 06.26.14 V2
Team Centerplate,
As you know we have been working on basic housecleaning and alignment of Lawson to make it a more effective personnel management HR system of record. Assisted by the entire Greenville Hospitality Service Center and with the advice input from the field we have completed our work, passed quality assurance testing, and are ready to implement this comprehensive update.
This “key activity” incorporated reviewing, documenting and updating business rules and work flows relative to all job titles, job codes and related position descriptions. We have established for the first time, clear job families and employment subsets that establish a hierarchy of classifications across the company to assist us in career development, workforce analytics, and organizational development.
Implementation will begin with our United States operations and by the end of 2014 will encompass the growing Centerplate Global network. We have moved from over 300 job titles to about 140; we have also revised all job codes and position descriptions and a new digital library of position descriptions and training standards will be available to you and your team(s) on Spark.
This work supports future initiatives and was a necessary first step in updating Centerplate’s records and the Lawson database. Armed with a more accurate view of the enterprise, we now have a solid foundation for continued Organizational Transformation in the areas of education, recruiting, personnel management (organizational structure, staffing), labor cost management, and pursuit of a shared services strategy to deliver world-class services to our clients, our GM’s and their teams.
There are several title changes directly supporting Centerplate’s rebranding campaign [Making it better to be there since 1929] which will require GM’s to deliberately communicate to affected employees. We want to ensure that they understand there is no impact on pay, terms of employment or scope of responsibility; the changes are designed to impact internal and external perceptions of clients, guests and our team members.
If your operation uses Attendance Enterprise, you will see the new codes automatically reflected. If your operation uses the Payroll Front End program, you will need to manually update to the new codes prior to entering your next payroll. This can easily be done by downloading your employee file from Lawson after the new job codes have taken effect, and then loading the file into your Front End program.
Corporate IT has sent out a template with step-by-step instructions on how to perform this update for those locations unfamiliar with the process and Help Desk information – 864-248-2026. Along with these changes you will receive new profiles for each associate once completed.
Going forward, job requisitions, promotions and transfers must use the approved job titles, job codes and position descriptions; these will be available from your HR team and also available directly on SPARK. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
Our goal is to provide World-Class Customer Service to you (our clients) and if we can assist you in this important implementation do not hesitate to contact Corporate Human Resources or Payroll.
