Breakout Session Presentations

The Strategic Planning breakout discussed the role of strategic planning at the unit level and how General Managers and RVPs can work together to employ the Strategic Hospitality Design Process to design strategic plans for their properties. The presentation included a focus on the importance of discovery and a review of the six keys steps to developing a strategic plan. The breakout used two case studies, the San Francisco 49ers and the World Arena, to show how the strategic hospitality design process was applied to create successful strategic plans for growth. The breakout also discussed the importance of year round planning and potential sources of funding for redesigns.

Culinary Center Breakout Session Presentation

The Talent Program Breakout session reviewed our repositioned mission statement and employer branding; updated leadership on the organizational structure of the HR team; reviewed the evolution of Spark and planned enhancements for 2014; outlined the 2014 Centerplate Training Plan; and last, provided a status update on our efforts to re-energize employee recognition and engagement programs throughout the Global Enterprise.

The team received great feedback in Orlando and is implementing recommendations from the breakout sessions; this includes changes to training administration to more fully empower GM’s to leverage Centerplate University; integration of our UK team onto Centerplate Spark; and the collection of enhancements for version 2.0 of the new automated assessment process.
